The Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the North Dayi District Assembly embarked on an engagement with the community members to inspect existing and new toilet facilities in various households within the District.

The exercise was to educate the community on the need for household latrines construction. It was also to promote the various household latrine types and their cost of construction. Community members were also educated on the health hazard of open defecation.

At the end of the exercise, most community members realised the need to construct household latrines.
