NORTH DAYI DISTRICT TAKES GIANT STEPS TO END OPEN DEFECATION IN TEN COMMUNITIES

Ten communities with more than 10000 population lacked decent places of convenience making the people to resort to open defecation.

 

A team from the District Environmental Health Unit engaged the leadership of these communities to appeal to members of each household to construct household latrines or toilets.

 

Mr. Akiti, the Environmental Health Officer of the Assembly, was grateful to the Chiefs of the communities for welcoming the idea and accepted the challenge to construct toilets to curb infectious diseases in the area. He encouraged other communities to emulate the good deed of the Chiefs, adding that they have contributed to improving the health needs of the people in the district.
